Ingredients
- 1 cup / 250 mL old fashioned or steel-cut oats
- 1/4 cup / 60 mL nut butter (peanut butter or almond butter)
- 1/4 cup / 60 mL honey
- 1/2 tsp / 2.5 mL Watkins All Natural Original Gourmet Baking Vanilla
- 1/4 tsp / 1.25 mL Watkins Pure Ground Cinnamon
- Dash of salt
Variations
- Blueberry: Use almond butter and add 1/2 cup / 125 mL dried blueberries to mix.
- Chocolate Coconut: Use almond butter and add 1/2 tsp / 2.5 mL cocoa powder to mix. Roll treats in shaved coconut.
- Oatmeal Cookie: Use almond butter and add 1/4 cup / 60 mL raisins and 1/4 cup / 60 mL chopped pecans to mix.
- Peanut Butter Cookie: Use peanut butter. Roll treats in 1/2 cup / 125 mL roasted salted peanuts.
- Peanut Butter Cup: Use peanut butter. Roll treats in 1/2 cup / 125 mL mini chocolate chips.
Directions
In a medium mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients and stir to combine. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Using a spoon, scoop about 1 tbsp / 15 mL of the treat mixture into your hand. Roll into a ball and place on plate or cookie sheet.
Optional: In a small mixing bowl, add topping of choice. Roll treat ball in topping before placing it on plate or cookie sheet.
Repeat with remaining mixture. Store the balls covered in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for several months.
